MMY celebrates 30 years!

Mattson Macdonald Young is proud to have maintained it’s standards for excellence, reliability and humility for over 30 years!  Since Wes Mattson and Dave Macdonald first partnered in their Uptown offices over the Rainbow Bar,   MMY has grown, evolved and broadened its scope while maintaining a small business sensibility and commitment to every project, small and large.

MMY welcomes Mike Manor

Mike is a registered engineer in Minnesota and has previously worked on a variety of projects, including designing specialty steel connections. He is also recently a dad for the second time, so if he looks a little tired, it’s not because we’re keeping him up at night.

Remodeling

We shut down for a few days at the beginning of the month as we did a little remodeling in our office.  Mostly we just freshened the place up with new paint and carpet, and one non-load bearing wall change.  The biggest changes are yet to come as we work on rerouting the train in the office.  We’ll have a couple of new bridges to unveil once we get it all together.  Of course, the project is on time and under budget.

Welcome Tor Oksnevad

We welcome Tor Oksnevad to our office as an Engineer in Training.  Tor has 4 years of engineering experience and is working towards his licensure.  He brings with him a background in curtainwall design and we look forward to getting to know him and how to pronounce his last name correctly.

Welcome back Arlen Grant

Arlen Grant rejoins MMY after a 4 year “sabbatical”, during which he was designing jet engine testing facilities around the globe.  His wife and children are thrilled to have him closer to home, as are we.

Welcome Eric McElrath

Eric McElrath started at MMY as our new intern (I think we broke the last one).  He’ll be working on our intern program, which we designed to give a crash course in wood design as well as helping out on various projects.
